With the recent departure of Pete Almasi the Under 23 squad find themselves left out in the cold after their slightly dissapointing European Championships. The Performance department have recently advertised for the job of Under 23 Coach and applications will be vetted soon. The cynics among the canoeing public are suggesting a choice of Paul Darby Dowman is a forgone conclusion but with one of the criteria being the need for 3 years coaching experience at international level the choice would be hard to justify. Whoever the chosen one is though they are going to have to get to work pretty quickly to turn around a pretty negative mood among the athletes who currently have been left to their own devices and dont seem too pleased about it!
